"Memories to Bear" came out of a ministry to help a friend find comfort in being close to something that belonged to a loved one who passed away. We wanted something that would be soft and huggable and bring memories of the loved one. What would comfort someone more than a Teddy Bear? This little "Love Bear", made from garments that the person wore could be a comfort by being a touchable, huggable reminder of the person who is away.
In death, flowers are a wonderful gift to the family but soon wither and die, but our little bear will bring comfort for many years to come and will bring good memories and a subtle feeling of the presence of the person's spirit.
Physical distance is also a time of great stress. If a son or daughter is a soldier or in college and is away from home a "hug" from one of our camouflage bears or a bear made from a special garment may help until the day he or she comes home.
Special birthdays or anniversaries are also fun to celebrate with the gift of a bear made from baby clothes or some outfit that holds memories for the person.
